1. Pre-Christmas Wine Tasting

On Saturday, December 4th, Noel Young will once again be presenting 6 or 7 wines (including a controversial finale) and we will be providing nibbles.  The Tasting will be held in Thriplow Village Hall and we will start at 8pm so guests will need to arrive and get their places before 7.45pm.  Tickets will shortly be on sale in the Shop, or from Kevin, for £10 (adults only please).

You will be able to order the wines you like from Noel's selection, and to get these delivered by us before Christmas.  These evenings are good fun, very entertaining and always throw up a surprise favourite wine, so make a note in your diary now and buy a ticket when you can.

2. The 100 Club grows by 50%

Our very successful 100 Club has run its first year now.  The winners this week in the Green Man draw were Diana Lomas (£50) and Colin Tibbs (£20) - well done to both of them!  The shop won too, over the year we made about £600 from running these events - this kind of money is massively important to the success of the shop.  Thank you everyone for supporting it.

Now we are 150!  There are only a few numbers left to be purchased, so if you want one, please ask in the shop now.  Prize money has been extended to a £50, £30, £20 and £10 prizes (providing we sell all the numbers).  That is 4 winners and a total of £110 prize money each month!  All for the annual entry cost of £15, that's £1.25 per draw.

The next draw will be in the Green Man on Wednesday 17th November at about 8pm.  Good luck!

3. Jewellery Sale and Demonstration in the Shop

On November 24th, we will be hosting a visit by Marion Curtis of Perne Villla Studios.

Marion is a textile designer by training but has always enjoyed making jewelllery for herself and for friends.  She makes silver jewellery, earrings, bracelets and necklaces with fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals and Murano glass.  Marion is also a member of Cambridge Open Studios where she exhibits both her jewellery and textiles work.  You can see examples of her work at www.camopenstudios.co.uk . With few overheads Marion is able to offer some lovely items at a really affordable price.  Most purchases are gift wrapped.

During her visit to Thriplow Shop Marion is planning to demonstrate how she makes some of her creations and will be pleased to replace tarnished ear wires and re thread broken necklaces for a reasonable fee.

We hope to see you at one or more of these events.
