On behalf of the Highways Agency, I am writing to inform you of overnight repairs to the southbound carriageway of the A11 Trunk Road between Six Mile Bottom and Junction 9a of the M11. The works will involve the renewal of roadmarkings and road studs.
The works are scheduled to start on the evening of Tuesday 2 August and will take approximately 7 nights to complete. The working hours will be between
8.00pm and 6.00am Monday - Thursday nights
During the works it will be necessary to implement overnight closures of the southbound carriageway between the A14 junction 36(Six Mile Bottom) and junction 9a of the M11. A signed diversion route will be in place for traffic wishing to travel southbound on the A11.
Through traffic wishing to travel southbound on the A11 will be diverted to carry on the A14 eastbound to join the M11 southbound at Junction 31 (Girton). Traffic wishing to return to the A11 will need to continue to exit at junction 10(Duxford) and join the A505 westbound to rejoin the A11 at the Abington junction.
There will be fully signed diversions for local traffic.
Access will be maintained at all times for Emergency Services.
