I'm sorry but it seems the last mail only told you about a few events, some were missed off the list. Hopefully this will be the complete list.
Dear All
We trust that you are getting excited about the forthcoming celebrations!
Here is some information about the events to help you prepare for the big day. Please note the new information about the village photo and please remember to bring a salad if you’re coming to the feast.
Church
There will be a special celebration service at 9.30 am with refreshments afterwards. The bells will be rung from about 8.45 am.
Competitions
There are a number of competitions open to both children and adults: posy, hat, bunting and cake. Full details were sent on an information letter to all houses, a copy of which is on the fence outside the village shop. Please bring your entries to the Village Hall on Sunday between 10.00 and 12.00. If you would like to take part in the bike time trials (all ages welcome) then assemble outside the Village Hall at 11.00.
Events for younger children
There is an opportunity for children to decorate some fairy cakes. Bring your children to the Village Hall at 11.15 am – all equipment/materials/cake are provided but an apron might be useful! There will be a bouncy castle at the side of the Green all day on Sunday from about 10.00 am until 6.00 pm. Adults will need to supervise their own children.
Grand Parade
We hope you are busy decorating your “vehicle” for the Parade. Lots of village wheelbarrows are never going to look the same again. Please assemble in Church Street at 3.00 pm, wearing your fancy hat and if you don’t have anything on wheels then come along anyway and join in the fun.
Games
The Village Games will commence on the Green at 4.30 pm. Perhaps more Olympic in spirit than in skill but do come along and join in – all ages welcome.
Village Photograph
We now have an official photographer who will take a photograph of the whole village assembled on the Green at 6.00 pm. So don’t forget to come to the Green at 6pm to be part of the photograph.
Feast and Evening Entertainment
The 4 course feast will start at 6.30 pm and everyone will be seated at tables in the marquee. Please bring your own plates, cutlery, glasses and drink. The Green Man will also be open to sell drinks. And a reminder to every family/group to please bring a salad to share – enough for about 6 people – thank you! There will be entertainment from TADS after the meal and then a disco.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday
