Hi folks, time for some news from the Village Shop....

5. A reminder about Pre-Pay
6. We have had quite a lot of produce from local gardens to sell in the shop, even though the early summer was not good for sunshine so fruit yields might be low. But we are always after more! If your garden has a glut of anything, please bring us your excess fruit and vegetables down and we’ll sell them cheaply to local customers. Our customers really appreciate these Thriplow produced items.
7. We now have a new freezer – completely free of charge – and it is full of the usual frozen products, pizzas, pastry, ready meals, vegetables etc. Soon, when the wholesaler can get themselves organised to send it to us, we will also have the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream that was supposed to go in it!

We do have new potatoes from Robert Smith’s farm, again at no cost to us, and they are lovely. Thank you Robert.

We also have another delivery of wine from Noel Young, including a few bottles of the wine that I know many of you rate – Tin Pot Hut from New Zealand.

3. Last month’s 150 Club first prize-winner was George Dellar. Other winners were Mike Braithwaite, Diane Lomas and Brenda Perry. Congratulations to all! The next draw will be on Tuesday in the Green Man at about 8pm.

4. We would like to thank you all for your subscriptions to TVSA – we really appreciate it. You will be receiving your membership certificate soon.

5. Finally just a reminder about our prepay system. If you don’t know about this, all you do is put money into our book and then every time you shop, we deduct the amount from your credit. It makes it easy to pop in and get things without having to carry money and also easy for the kids to come in and buy stuff that you have asked them to get. Give it a thought, and if you are interested in starting an account, just ask the person behind the till how to do so.
