Together with other committee members, I am trying to spread the word about Daffodil Weekend which is now only nine days away. We are especially keen to get the news out about the new ” Taste of Thriplow” area on Peggs Close which will feature a collection of high quality artisan food producers/farmers market stalls that might be of interest to friends and family. We are also trying to get a following on twitter and facebook.

I would be really grateful if you could forward the message below to any of your contacts/family/friends that you think might be interested in coming along. Also if you or anyone you know uses twitter or facebook there are a couple of short messages/tweets that we would love people to put out there.

“It’s just over a week until the 45th Thriplow Daffodil Weekend - a great day out for all the family. The village is closed to traffic so you can enjoy the daffodils and wander around over 100 stalls plus numerous attractions - from heavy horse rides to sheep dog displays and Morris dancers to steam engines. There are open gardens and lots to eat and drink.

We also have something new this year - Taste of Thriplow – a showcase of local food heroes with beef from Red Poll cattle, cordials brewed from hedgerow fruits, British charcuterie and cheeses plus home baked cakes & pies. We even have Cambridgeshire's own Gin distiller!

We really hope you can come along and help us to help Bluesmile (www.bluesmileproject.org) the Cambridgeshire kids’ charity which provides counselling support in schools. Since 1969, Thriplow Daffodil Weekend has raised more than £300,000 for local charities and we would like to make this year one of the biggest and best.

So put the 16 and 17 March in your diary – it really is a bloomin’ good day out.”
