Remember that the Prescription service from your doctor’s surgery might be less than normal standard over the next few weeks so please get your requests into them early. We might be open, but they might not be delivering to us over the holiday
Now, don’t underestimate how difficult it is for staff and volunteers to get the time to open the shop during the holiday period and if you want to buy them a mince pie to thank them, please feel free!
2. We have a Special Evening on 11th December. We will stay open from 6pm to 8pm for a late night shopping extravaganza! Our Guest of Honour from 6.30pm will be no other than Santa Claus, he is taking time off from making toys to come all the way here from the Arctic. Don’t tell any of your children though, otherwise the shop may be crowded! Any kids who do find out will go away with a small gift, for the older ones among us, there will be free lashings of mulled wine, coffee and mince pies. Come along to get your last minute gifts and wrapping ideas.
3. The Christmas Raffle is back this year! Sue has organised a fabulous list of prizes including a £50 hamper, a Deller’s turkey, a free MOT, jewellery, meat and fruit/veg collections. The draw for these prizes will be made on the Late Shopping Night – 11th December if you have already forgotten, so get your raffle tickets from the shop NOW before it is too late!
Thanks to Sue and especially to Mr Deller, Revivals, Emma Budd, Davey’s Meats and Fieldgate for sponsoring the prizes.
4. 150 Club winners. Amazingly, the Freestone family (Diane and James) won two of the prizes in November’s draw with the other one going to Sue Pinner. There are some numbers still unclaimed from last year, and one of them won £30 last month – a prize that couldn’t be given out because of non-payment! You've got to be in it to win it! The December winners were Chris Neild, Carol Clarke, Sarah Elgar and Gill McDonnell.
The entry cost for the 10 draws to come is now just £12.50. Please buy your numbers now to be in with a chance of winning, or if you want to join our lottery, just ask in the shop.
Thanks to all of you for supporting the shop throughout the year. We are doing well and hope to continue so in 2014. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
