Update on the Mary Cooper Open Church project

I hope that by now you have seen the information on the first of our fund-raising events. This is a Film Night to be held at the school on the evening of Thursday 13th March – tickets are now on sale at the school office and in the village shop.

We would like to say a big thank you to those of you who have read though our appeal brochure and made a donation towards our appeal. Donations to date amount to £2800 but obviously we have a long way to go.

The work on phase one is progressing well with a new stone floor being laid in the North transept. We hope to complete all the internal work by early March and then take a break before we carry out the drainage work after Daffodil Weekend.

The further news is that we have now received confirmation that the planning application for phase two – the toilet extension, has been approved by South Cambridgeshire District Council. This work will commence when we have the necessary funds in place.

The project team is continuing to work on fund-raising and we will be planning further events and activities and we’ll keep you in touch with what is happening.
