Hi folks, time for the news from Thriplow Shop again...

1. Our new look!
2. The AGM is on Monday evening.

6. We have a new look to the outside of the shop!

The complete set of shop front windows has been replaced. We now have dual glazed units with opening top windows and nicely painted white frames. Thanks to our landlord for doing this job, together with the new fence done last year, this makes the shop look much better.

2. AGM.

We will be reporting progress during 2013 to members of the Association next Monday evening at 8pm, in the Village Hall. If you are a member (i.e. if your household has paid for the current year’s subscription), please feel free to attend and hear more about what has been happening in the shop. It won’t be a long meeting but we’d like to see as many of you as possible. Questions are allowed, and we can sometimes answer them!

3. 150 Club winners.

The draw for May was actually done in early June because of holidays, and it coincided with the CAMRA meeting in the pub. All the spare balls were bought by pub customers and three balls were bought for the remainder of the year – if you want to get a ball, please let us know in the shop, there are only 5 draws left this year so it is now only £6.25 for a ball. May’s winners were Gina Gomez, Brenda Perry, a CAMRA man and Lelia Griffin. The CAMRA man (who is actually Chaela’s brother) ended up having to buy a round for his mates! Watch out for results of the next draw (June) which will be run soon.

4. The Shop’s Progress

We are having some good monthly returns. April was impressive with both Daffodil Weekend and a Wine Club round included and May’s takings were 4% up on last year. We are 7% up on last year so far.

We are still looking for another part-time employee and we are always on the hunt for volunteers to join either Sunday’s rota or help out in emergencies when staffing is a problem. Let us know if you are interested in either please.

5. New Product Range.

We have added some new “Gluten Free” products in the shop so if you prefer these, why not take a look? We also do printer paper now.

If there is anything that anyone would particularly like us to try out, let us know and we’ll see what we can do – remember that we can get fruit and vegetables to order, next day delivery so if you have any special requirements outside our normal stock items, just ask us to order it.
