Urgent! Lawn alert – Chafer grubs!

We are aware that we are not alone in the village in suffering an infestation of Chafer grubs in our garden lawn. These grubs feed exclusively on grass roots thus destroying the lawn! The problem needs to be treated village-wide as these grubs are spread very easily to neighbouring gardens.

We suggest you look at your lawn for tell-tale signs. These include:

Increased bird activity pecking at the grass leaving dead tufts on the surface Grass turning brown in patches
This brown grass is easily scrapped away leaving bare earth White grubs easily visible under the bare patches of grass

The only effective solution we know of is an organic control using nematode worms. This treatment is safe and effective, eradicating the grubs from the whole area treated. The previous chemical treatment has been removed from the market.

The product is only available between July and September as the soil temperature needs to be 15 degrees C for it to be effective.
