Here is the Monthly News from Thriplow Shop...

1. Judy is in hospital
2. Christmas is coming
3. A new member of staff is needed
4. 150 Club winners and next year
5. The Wine Club was a success again
6. You may have heard that Judy Bradshaw, one of our extremely valuable volunteer Committee Members, is in hospital. Judy is well known in the villages here and we have a few cards for customers and friends to sign in the shop. Just ask to sign it if you wish. Our thoughts are all with Judy and her family.
7. You might have noticed that the shop is now well stocked with Christmas articles such as smellies, chocolates and cakes/confectionery goods. Please have a good browse and do so quickly because they will go well, and once they are gone, they are gone! There are some fabulous value items in there to finish off your Christmas gift lists.

We also have stamps, including some Christmas ones that will be in by the middle of the month. We do firsts, seconds, European and Long Distance stamps and can do stamps for the heavier parcels too so you need go no further than the Village Shop – and avoid standing in the excessive queues that Post Offices always have these days!

3. We are still looking for a new permanent member of staff to at least open the shop on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, plus more hours by flexible working if wanted to cover holidays, sickness and emergencies. If you like getting up in the morning and need some extra cash, this little job would be ideal for you. Please let us know if you are interested

4. The last 150 Club draw of the current membership year has been made and the winners were Barbara Pointon, Mark Richer, Michaela Rowland-Hall and Liz Keyworth

It’s now time to renew your number(s) unless you have already done this, and ensure that you get the ones you had last year, or to change to some luckier ones! Just ask tin the shop to renew or buy an entry. This is another good fundraiser for the shop so thank you for supporting the lottery, last year the Annual Subscriptions and the 150 Club made the difference between posting a slight profit or making a loss so that is just how important these little contributions are.

5. Thanks to all the customers who bought wine from the wine club round recently. It was well subscribed and we hope you enjoy your wines for Christmas.
