Hi Everyone
Quite a bit of news from the shop, so here goes...
- We have a new fridge!
- Our new business partnership with Amazon
- Carrier Bags
- 150 Club winners
- Crop for the Shop
- Record sales
- Our new milk fridge was delivered a couple of weeks ago. The old one was leaking and needing constant attention. You will have noticed the nice shiny newness but you won’t have noticed the damage that got us a 25% discount, because when it arrived, Sue and Jenny fixed the damage reported by the supplier and shown on a photograph that we saw before we ordered it - with a paper clip! Many thanks to Kit Jackson for turning out to help remove the old fridge and to install the new one.
- We have done a deal with Amazon to be one of their Pass My Parcel outlets. When you order something from Amazon (not their external partners), you can specify that delivery is to the shop on the ordering web page. If you do that, we will take and sign for your parcel and you can collect it. There are two “musts”, a) you must collect it within 7 days of Amazon notifying you that we have it, and b) you must give us the code that they send you – we cannot release the parcel without this code. We understand that this doesn’t cost you extra, but we get paid a small amount very time we deliver a parcel.
- We are a bit short of carrier bags, so it would be a good time to bring your stock of used bags into us. In October, the supermarkets will charge you for new ones so we are likely to be short of them more often. Please remember to save any you have for us!
- 150 Club winners this time were Robin Cox, Kevin Duckworth and Peter Lander. We will be collecting for the new year of 150 Club draws from October. The new year starts in November.
- Crop for the Shop donations have been quite good this year but we are always happy for more. So, if you grown your own fruit and veg, and you get more than you need, please bring any excess down to the shop and we can sell it cheap. Local grown produce always goes quickly and is much appreciated.
- July is always a strange month. Even though many of our customers go on holiday in the last weeks of it, July is usually a good month for us. This year, it produced a Non-Daffodil-Weekend monthly record in takings. Business is still on the up but don’t forget to renew your annual subscription to the shop (at £10 per head).
Have a good summer....
