Hi everyone, news from the shop again....

  1. Welcome back, Sue
  2. Fundraisers, 150 Club and Subscriptions
  3. Thriplow Shop Wine Club
  4. Stamps for Christmas
  5. Thank you for your produce
  6. Healthy foods on sale
  7. Some of you will have noticed that after a long illness, Sue is coming back to work. So many of you have asked after her while she has been away, but now you can ask her for yourself. She will open the shop for part of the week until we get into the new routine with Maureen, who has started properly with us now, and Keith who will be retiring soon. Anyway, welcome back Sue – you have been missed!
  8. We are still collecting Subscription money at £10 per head. Please try to remember to donate if you have not done so already. We do have a list so if you’re not sure, just ask us if you’re already in or not.

And the new year of 150 Club draws starts in November. Winners in last month’s draw were Amy Diment, Barry Radley, Lelia Griffin and Michael Moule, congratulations to them all! If you have not renewed your number yet for the new year, please do so now or someone might take it from you when they get released. And if you aren’t in it, and want to be, just ask and you can have one of the spare numbers. £15 is all you need for a year of draws worth £110 per month in prizes.

3. I’ll be getting a selection of wines for the Christmas period shortly and will send these out to a selected group of club members. If you want to be on the list, let me know by replying to this mail, entry is free and no purchase is ever required. Noel Young gives us a good deal and I deliver your order to your door, cheque payable on delivery.

4. We will be getting special stock in for Christmas gifts and stocking fillers but not quite yet. However, we do sell stamps and have some Christmas ones available so if you want a) a big order of stamps or b) special Christmas ones, let us know and we’ll be ready for you. Don’t go to the Post Office, we’re closer and it’s good business for us at no extra cost to you.

5. We have had a special year for “Crop for the Shop’, where customers bring in their excess production from the vegetable garden for us to sell in the shop. They are always popular. We’ve had so many but the favourites for me this year have been the blackberries and the potatoes. But a big thanks to everyone for the apples, rhubarb, beans, lettuces, beetroot, courgettes and cucumbers and all the things that I’ve forgotten...

6. A relatively new supplier for us is Shire Foods. They do gluten-free and healthy foods and we already have a number of their products on sale like polenta, linseed and quinoa. But if there is anything else you want us to get, please talk to Helen and she will order it for you.

PS Special note for the kids – we had a new delivery of Match Attack cards today.

That’s all for now

Kevin
