No newsletter for a good while so here is what we’re up in the shop…
- More mechanical repairs
- Entries for the Pub Sign competition
- 150 Club winners
- 150 Club entries for the next year
- August Finances
- No sooner had we installed the new ice cream freezer but one of the deli fridges wouldn’t do anything but defrost. Quick fix on that and the other one’s fan started squeaking and then the oven fused! Fortunately we have a good network of people who fix things like fridges, coffee machines and ovens so these were all back in service quickly, but sometimes it can drive us batty. We’ve also installed a new card machine which allows “Contactless” operation for payments under £30 - this should speed things up a little.
- We are still taking entries in for the design of the new pub sign outside the Green Man. If you want to enter this competition, you only have until the end of September so get cracking! The prize is a £60 voucher for a meal at the pub and a magnum of champagne!! Please don’t give your entry to the pub or to me.
- Winners in August were Annie Eccles, Ali Weissberg, Michael Moule and Judy Murch. Winners in September were Di King, Jenny Lawson, Alison Starr and Sue Earnshaw. Congratulations to all!
- We are about to start collecting renewals for the 150 Club’s next year. If you wish to keep your lucky number, please renew by the end of October. It costs £15 per number.
- The shop had quite a good August for turnover despite everybody’s holidays. Takings to date this year are 5% up on last year and we expect to finish the year strongly. All good news.
That's all for now.
