Hi everyone, here is our news….
- £1 coins going out of circulation
- 150 Club renewals due
- Subscriptions reminder
- We still need an accountant to help us
- Saturday and Sunday newspapers
- Pub sign competition
- Just a reminder that the old round £1 coins will soon cease to be legal tender. The last day we will accept them in the shop is Friday 13th October – after that customers will have to take their old £1 coins to their bank or to a post office.
- This is the last month of the current annual round of 150 draws. Please renew your number for £15 by the end of October if you wish to keep it. There are a few numbers spare so if you’d like to enjoy a flutter where you have the chance of £50, £30, £20 and £10 prizes each month, please ask.
- We’d still like a few more people to subscribe to membership of our shop association, this is £10 per head and can be taken in the shop anytime. We have had a few new members this year but equally, some people have left the area. Both this and the 150 club are vital fundraisers to help us break-even at the end of the year.
- Nobody has yet come forward to volunteer services to prepare our end of year accounts. Alison Starr did this for a long time but has now left the area and can no longer do it. The end of year accounts is the only work to do, Pat does the rest including VAT returns. PLEASE, if anyone has the qualifications, we need this help, just contact me or Pat Easthope.
- It seems that once again, people who have ordered newspapers at the weekend are not telling us on those days when they are away and don’t need them. Please try to remember to tell us, just call 208958 anytime up to the day before the paper is ordered and we will temporarily cancel your order. That way, we don’t leave other customers without and incur non-returnable charges.
- The pub sign competition is now closed and there are about 35 entries. The winner(s) will be chosen next Thursday.
That’s all folks….
Kevin
