From William Russell (Cricket Ground Owner)
As you know the Cricket Club and the Ground Owner have to date been more than happy for the ground to be used by villagers for their dogs, school sports day, fitness classes and other events. In the long term that hopefully will not change.
However the ground is privately owned and not a ‘village amenity’ and, with the current Grain Store Planning Application meaning 36 more houses being potentially built close by, the village will need to have more land made available to cope with the extra demand for this type of open space.
Given the current situation, unfortunately it has been decided to temporarily close the ground to anyone other than the Cricket Club until there is more clarity over how the application might address this issue.
Thank you for your understanding.
William
