It is with sadness that we have to announce that Helen is leaving her position as manager of Thriplow Shop. Helen has worked for ten years as manager and has been largely responsible for its efficient running and growth during the period of the shop being community run. She has had to deal with many crises, changes and troubles during this time and it is testament to her diligence that these have often not been noticed by customers. Helen will leave on January 13th. We wish her well in her new role in education.
Maureen has accepted the position of manager from January 15th and we hope you will welcome her step-up, she is very competent and experienced in village shops - more so in fact than anyone on the staff or committee. We are sure the shop will thrive in her hands.
So we are now looking for an additional member of staff to help out during the week. The following advert will be going up in the local area. If you are interested, or know anyone who would be interested in filling the post, please get in touch with any member of the committee, preferably Pat Easthope and we will take it from there. If you are interested, but would only be able to do fewer hours than the advert says, please let us know - maybe the post could be shared by two persons.
Part-time Shop Assistant – Thriplow Shop
Thriplow Shop needs another member of staff to join our team.
We are looking for a part-time shop assistant from early to mid-January 2018 to help cover the weekday operating hours of roughly 6.30am to 6.30pm. Hours are subject to discussion but will consist of between 16-24 regular hours per week and some additional hours to cover staff absences as required and agreed at the time. It is likely that some early morning hours on perhaps two days per week may be required.
Thriplow Shop is a Community-Run enterprise with a small number of paid staff and a large number of volunteers. This is a paid, permanent position and comes with higher than National Living Wage, sick pay and holiday pay and opportunity to save towards a pension.
The shop is profitable and we pay bonuses annually depending on the level of profit.
The shop is an essential service for many in the local area, and its workers are extremely highly thought of members of the community, everybody recognises how valuable their service is – we are lucky to have a local village shop.
Full training will be given. Minimum age requirement is 18 and the job is open to anyone who lives within a reasonable distance of the shop.
Apply to Pat Easthope, 01763 208401 or DavidEasthope@PROTECTED.
