Please note that the Cricket Field will be open for Car Parking and there is no parking on School lane or around the Green as it will be a hazard for the procession

The Daffodil Weekend 50th Celebration Organising Committee

 

Thriplow Daffodil Weekend 50th Celebrations – Sunday 6th May 2018-Procession of Floats

To: School, Villages, and Businesses

As part of the event to celebrate 50 years of Daffodil Weekend and as previously advised ( see flyer attached) there will be an event Sunday 6th May (bank holiday weekend) At 2:30pm there will be a parade of decorated floats from THE Southern End of Church Street ,. N along Church St West along School lane and around the Village Green where they will stop.

There is an opportunity for you to get a group of friends together to decorate a float, trailer, classic car, pram or anything unusual!

Floats will gather from 2pm at Troy’s Paddock at Church Street ( NE of KWS) where the classic cars are at Daffodil Weekend see map) and the procession will leave at 2:30pm

Theme and Prize

The theme is ‘Golden’ and there will be prizes as follows:

· Best dressed child on a float

· Best dressed adult on a float

· Most innovatively designed float

· The Jeremy Murray Prize for the float showing the most community involvement

· Thriplow Gold Daffodil discretionary prize

· Best Musical Float

Judging will take place on The Green by a VIP.

Health and Safety

The roads will not be officially shut so we are urging caution and groups involving children must be accompanied by an adult .There will be marshals to moderate the passing cars. If you utilise a road licenced vehicle you are responsible for the insurance otherwise you proceed at your own risk until we get to The Green where the event is insured.
