Dear Resident,

We are looking for a few more volunteers to assist with the Speedwatch traffic speed monitoring scheme.

Setting up the Speedwatch Indicator Device enables drivers to visually see the speed they are travelling. Last Monday, 11 June, nearly 100 vehicles passed through Fowlmere Road, one way, during our 1 hour session, resulting in 18 vehicles travelling over the 30 mph limit. Drivers are then sent a letter by the Police which, hopefully, has the result of reducing speeding.

To make a real difference in educating drivers, initially, we need to run more sessions and this would be much easier with a few more volunteers on board to spread the load. Your commitment would be, possibly, 1 hour per week and if you could help us with this activity, please contact : Mary Axe, 01763 208457 or email: maryaxe@PROTECTED.

The next training sessions to be held at Cambourne Police Station are Saturday 14 July and also Saturday 18 August, 2018. The sessions last two hours and cover information about the scheme. Lifts can be arranged if transport is a problem.

Best wishes

Mary Axe

Speedwatch Coordinator
