Shop Newsletter 201030

Hi everyone

Just a quick note on what’s happening at the shop:

  1. During lockdown, we think lots of people were happy with the shop and the volunteers for providing home delivery of orders.  We are grateful to our staff and the volunteers (Thriplow always has volunteers) for their extra work during this time.  We proved you don’t have to be Ocado to deliver groceries!  We stand ready to repeat the task if a lockdown of any severity locally requires self-isolation again this winter.

  2. We made a slight loss in the financial year to January 2020, but things have picked up with the extra business this year.

  3. Subscriptions to the Shop Association are still being collected, £10 per head gives you membership of our association.  Please do join us - this income is very important to our finances.

  4. If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to renew your entry into the 150 Club lottery.  The last draw of your entry was earlier this month and the winners were Oliver Walston, Larry Seligman, Chris Sargeant and Hanna Roberts.  If you want to win some of the £110 monthly prizes, you need to buy or renew ownership of a ball, just £15 for the whole year!  The next draw will be late November.

  5. Christmas stamps will be on sale from mid November.   I’ll will send a short email when this happens.  We have plenty this year but as usual, it will be first come, first served.

  6. Thank you to everyone for complying with the one in-one out rule and the compulsory mask wearing.  We do appreciate the difficulties these rules make.

Stay safe and keep warm this winter.

Kevin
