Reflecting on your comments and presentation of Monday evening and whilst I am fully supportive of the plan for the village to buy the pub and the extensions proposed, I think that we should not forget and recognise the many great things that we value about the pub, the great times we have had in the pub, so we don’t lose them. In particular the efforts that Mary made to make it a welcoming, warm friendly place, the kindnesses and accommodations she made for us all individually or as groups, and the fun we had at the events she arranged and sponsored. A colleague of mine who lives in Fowlmere (with 2 pubs) regularly walks to the Green Man with his family because as he says ”the Green Man is so friendly and they look after the children who love to go there”

I hope we will be lucky enough to find a tenant with these qualities.
