  8. Xmas Products in the Shop

Our Xmas items were put on display last week – do go and check them out if you haven’t already done so! We have everything from luxury items to stocking fillers, from amazing boxes of confectionery to things to hang on the tree. We have cards to suit every taste, as well as wrapping paper, Xmas bags, Xmas boxes, bows, labels and everything you could possibly need to wrap all your presents (excluding that new car!). We have cakes, puddings, stollen, mince pies.....the list is endless! We have candles in every possible flavour and smell and toiletries to suit both granny and the teenage niece. Please go and browse! (And we will be delighted to take orders for additional items, whether they are things that have sold out or where you would like more than one of something! But be quick, our suppliers also run out)

2. Late Night Shopping Evening

Please do come and join us on Wed 28th November, when we will be staying open until 8pm to give you the chance to do some Xmas shopping locally without having to face the horrors of Xmas traffic or the Park and Ride! We’ll be serving mulled wine and mince pies to keep you cheerful and energized while you shop, and our jewellery makers (see below) will be on hand to help you choose something beautiful and original for your nearest and dearest! (And if you wish we’ll deliver all your purchases to your house the following day! That’s even better than John Lewis!)

3. Jewellery Sales Days

As in previous years we will be selling items of jewellery in the shop on certain days. This year we are delighted to welcome Kay and Sylvia, who are two local ladies who have spent over three years focusing on all aspects of jewellery making. They use a wide range of skills including making their own beads together with abstract and flower forms from polymer clay. They also use knotting, wire work, loom work and creating intricate pieces using delicate seed beads. The results are both stunning and unique. Kay and Sylvia will be in the shop at the following times: Wed 28th November 6pm – 8pm (Late Night shopping Evening) Thurs 6th December 9am - Noon
Sat 15th December 10am – Noon
Wed 19th December 1pm – 4pm

4. Next Year's 150 Club

On Wednesday, we will draw the first of the new year's balls out of the rumbler. We'll be in the Green Man about 8pm onwards. For those of you who haven't managed to renew your balls, please do so urgently now, as you need to have paid to win the prize. Any prize won by an unclaimed ball will be judged to have been won by the shop. You can always buy your ball later (for a lower amount but you won't be entered for this month's draw. Prizes are £50, £30, £20 and £10 as before.

5. Don't forget...

We have kindling, logs and coal and these can be delivered to your house.

We can also take orders for cheeses, fruit, veg, meat and hams, just ask at the Shop for information and we'll try to get your order delivered as near to Christmas as possible.

6. Christmas Opening

These are what we intend to open during the festive period. Note the addition of a short Boxing Day shift run by a volunteer, mainly we suppose for Paracetamol and Newspapers! We're sure that David will be happy to see you that morning.

7. ... and Finally, but not a pretty sight!

Please can dog owners not put their waste in the bin outside the shop, it isn't pleasant for the staff and volunteers who come across it when they are emptying the bin. There are many clearly marked dog bins in the village and if you can't use those, please could you take it home with you. Thank you. That's all for now.
