Daffodil Planting: Update on autumn 2015 plan

The initial phase of this project is focused on creating mass displays at the gateways and on the iconic triangles only.

The iconic triangles have now been cleared and replaced with new high quality topsoil. These have also had a preliminary seeding with grass. The bulb planting on these triangles and in the village gateways will now start in earnest.

Peggs Close bank will receive another load of topsoil this week and will then be smoothed out prior to bulbs being planted. Once the bulbs have been planted in all areas a further sowing of grass seed will be carried out.

Next steps: autumn 2016

In autumn 2016 we will focus on creating smaller world class displays of rarer daffodils. These will be all around the village and we will be asking people to plant displays on their frontages. We will also be seeking permission to create displays along walkways and green areas in Sheralds Croft, Pigeons Close, Heathfield and other areas within the Parish. The aim is to create displays of daffodils which will attract visitors to all parts of our beautiful parish throughout the spring

Please contact a member of Daffodil Committee or the Parish Council if you would like more information or would like to get involved

Best wishes
