Just want to give you a heads up regarding some pub activities happening over Christmas & in to the New Year. Please read, we don't want you to miss a thing...

In a nutshell though,

Sunday 29th November 2015 we will be holding the first of our Sunday Sessions at the pub. We will be open later, until 9:30pm, and we will have live music from Claudette Burch from 6:30-9pm. Roasts served 12-6pm, from 6-8pm we will serve roast beef sandwiches & tapas.

Monday 30th November 2015 will be the last quiz of the year. Book your table to ensure your team is there.

Tuesday 1st December 2015, join us as we turn on the Christmas lights. This is a family friendly event that will last from 6-7pm. Think mulled wine, hot chocolate, cinnamon buns, christmas tunes, santa & a big old traditional count down.

Sunday 20th December 2015 we will be holding the second of our Sunday Sessions at the pub. We will be open later, until 9:30pm, and we will have live music from Claudette Burch from 6:30-9pm. Roasts served 12-6pm, from 6-8pm we will serve roast beef sandwiches & tapas.

Thursday 25th December 2015, the bar will be open from 12-4:30 if you would like to pop in for a Christmas drink. Please note though that we will be serving Christmas lunch for 35 guests in the restaurant so only the bar will be open for an impromptu drink.

If you are interested in joining us for Christmas day lunch, please speak to us soon as we have just 7 seats left.

Friday 26th December 2015 will see the return of the Great Big Boxing Day Brunch. Boxing day screams rejoin humanity, take a stroll down to the pub for brekky & whatever you do, don't you dare create any more washing up! Brunch served 11am-3pm on Boxing day. Book ahead... this will hit the spot.

Thursday 31st December 2015 is New Years Eve, and yes, we are having a bit of a party. The Green Man is scheduled to close for the first two weeks in January 2016, so New Years Eve carries a literal invitation to eat & drink the pub dry! Sound like fun? Early evening buffet will be served between 6-9pm. Arrive early it's good buffet strategy. Village pub party time until 1am.Bring your friends, book a table, jobs a good ‘un.

Friday 1st - Monday 18th January 2016 the pub will be closed. This is to allow us to take our first proper break since taking over, and also to enable us to carry out some necessary cellar improvements. Please note that there will be work going on at the pub, but it will not be open for food or drink at any point during this period.

Tuesday 19th January 2016 the pub will re-open as usual with opening times 11am-11pm Tuesday - Saturday & 12-7pm Sundays.

Wednesday 20th January 2016 is a date for your diary. We thought a nice way to celebrate the start of a new year in Thriplow would be to throw a party for all our customers, to celebrate our first year as tenants at the wonderful Green Man, and to thank you all for all your support in our first year of business.

So here's the plan….

Free real ale & house wine 5pm-6:30pm Free nibbles & canapes 5pm-6:30pm

Monday 25th January 2016, Robert Burns Night. Haggis, neeps, tatties, whisky & cheese. Full details to come.
