Hi everyone

We have decided to open a competition to design the next pub sign at the Green Man in Thriplow. Our current one is a bit boring.

Anyone can enter, including kids, professional and amateur artists. If you are not a budding artist yourself but know someone who might be interested, please tell them. Entry is free and you can have more that one go at it.

What we want is to see your designs and artwork. We will judge them and pick one or two to take forward (there are two sides to the sign, we might have different artwork on each). The winner(s) will be asked to paint the actual sign that we buy (or if necessary, we'll get a more experienced artist to paint it for you - thinking about kids here). So don't go into massive trouble on your entry because the winner will be painting the final sign again, just show us your idea(s).

There will be a prize of a £60 voucher for use at the pub (or something equivalent if an under-16 wins), but the real prize will be to see your work outside the pub for years to come.

The judging panel will be made up from some of the directors of the pub company together with Chris and/or Rebecca. Their decision will be final.

Points will be awarded for relevance, humour, attractiveness and layout. The pub name needs to be somewhere on the sign.
