On behalf of the Daffodil Weekend tearooms, thank you so much for all your help over the weekend; it was a memorable one! The tearooms require a lot of hardwork from a lot of people to make them work, so whether you baked fabulous cakes, poured teas, moved fridges, lifted tables or were just on standby, your support was very much appreciated.

An extra special thank you from me to:

Mandy Thornton, Kerstin Rivett and Mary Lindgren for helping lift boxes, collect cakes or pick up extra hot chocolate.

Erica Webber, Wendy Mersh, Angela Rimmer, Sue Earnshaw, Debbie Arbon and Chaela Rowland-Hall for being tearoom team leaders.

And, for course, we couldn't have done it without the support of the school and the cricket club - from Mrs Penty, Linda Baron, Sarah Clarkson, Kerstin Rivett and all the parents who came in and helped at school, to Lisa Turner and all from the cricket club.

My thanks also goes to Katie Hilton for putting Team Sandwich together. As far as I am aware, nearly all sandwiches were sold and, as always, were very popular with our visitors. However, we did have one complaint this year - frozen cucumber!!

Thanks to everyone in the shop too, especially Maureen for putting up with the Daffodil Weekend mail and the flour, as well as all the milk and bread orders.

A big thank you to The Green Man for your support with the water boilers and fridge hire - thanks guys!

The school hall tearoom looked wonderful this year with all the bunting that the children had made, as did the village hall - thank you to Katherine Martin for the lovely table decorations and especially to Pip MacGarry and her team of pom pom makers - Jo Fisher, Karen Willoughby, and Sean MacGarry (who held the ladder), who all sat and made an awful lot of pom poms. If you haven't seen them already, do go and have a look at the hall ceiling, the pom poms are quite something; the plan is to make good use of them for our 50th DW celebrations on the 6th May.

Thanks to all!

Gill McDonnell
