Hi All

Lord Mayor’s Show - Saturday 9th November 2019

Coach and Grandstand seats

Booking deadline 30th August 2019

We are arranging a coach trip for anyone from the village who wants to view the Lord Mayor’s Show (or have a day out in London) at a very heavily subsidised rate. There are two options for the day:

  1. Basic: Return coach trip to London. Find your own place to view the show
  2. Grandstand: Return coach trip to London. A guide will accompany you to your seat in the grandstand

The proposed itinerary is shown below (times are approximate):

s Meet outside the Green Man at 7.45am for an 8.00am departure

s Arrive London 9.30/9.45am

s Note: We have been given special permission for our coach to pass through the security cordon and road closures and we are allowed to park on Queen Victoria Street (a short 5 minute walk to the Grandstand with no tube journey!)

s The coach will depart London at 15.30 (tbc)

s Arrive Thriplow approx. 17.30

Option 1 – Basic: £20 (coach only)

s Make your own way to the parade

s The procession starts at 11am and finishes at approx. 14.45

Option 2 – Grandstand: £20 (coach) + £20 (grandstand seat at the discounted rate of half price)

s Accompanied trip to the Grandstands at St Paul’s (must be seated by 10.45am) and then onto view the afternoon procession on the embankment

s A Lord Mayor’s Show souvenir programme can be ordered at £4 per copy

TO BOOK: contact Gill at gmm66@PROTECTED or call 01763 209180 before 30th August 2019

The Lord Mayor’s show dates back to medieval times and is a national event that is seen by over 3 million viewers around the world. Subject to election the new Lord Mayor will be William Russell. It is traditional that the show reflects his life and interests. We have been given the opportunity to take part.

Members of the Yellow Barrows display team from the 50th Daffodil celebration, Church, Cricket Club and School will be taking part. This reflects the Thriplow community, our sense of fun and will show off our daffodils (the barrows and support vehicle will be suitably decorated). As well as being a lot of fun it is also a huge opportunity to show off our wonderful village.

Best wishes
