Dear all
You have probably all seen the reports in the press about the lack of PPE equipment used to protect our NHS frontline workers.
Now is our chance to help, so if you own a sewing machine or can sew by hand there are a number of items that we can make to help local (Addenbrookes etc) or otherwise hospital staff and community health and care workers through these unprecedented times.
Time is of the essence! So if you are willing and able please get started straight away by making scrubs, over the shoulder scrub bags, laundry bags and headbands etc.
If you are unable to sew but would still like to help we may need patterns to be printed off and/or material cut to pattern ready to be sewed. Contact the Thriplow & Heathfield Coronavirus Support Group at thriplowcoronavirus@PROTECTED. Or telephone Sarah Clarkson on 01763 208841 or 07540 815287.
We also will take fabric donations! So please look for any suitable fabric you have at home (cotton should be avoided or polycotton is preferable 65/35, 80/20 or 50/50 poly cotton mix), including old duvet covers. Plain fabric is preferred but patterns are okay if you don’t have anything else! Please see the attached PDF document for more information.
Anne Fisher has kindly volunteered to collect completed items and receive donations of fabric ready to be turned into scrubs. Please leave items on her doorstep in labelled bags i.e. completed scrubs or fabric donation.
If you have any questions please email the Thriplow & Heathfield Coronavirus Support Group at thriplowcoronavirus@PROTECTED.
Attached to this email is a PDF with further information and links to patterns.
Best wishes
