A message from St Georges Church and the Parish council
Remembrance Sunday 8th November
We are delighted to let you know that having now had full guidance from the Government we are able to hold an Act Of Remembrance at the war memorial at 10.50 am on Sunday 8th September. However, this will be a much smaller event than usual. Those allowed to attend are: local councillors, church leaders, people representing the Royal British Legion, members of the armed forces, veterans of the armed forces, and/or their representatives or carers
Members of the public are legally permitted to stop and watch the event as spectators but we would ask you to consider if you can find other ways to mark this event. If you have any symptoms of Covid 19 or have been advised to self-isolate then please do not come.
The Royal British Legion suggests on its website that an appropriate marking of Remembrance Sunday includes watching the service on television or pausing for the Two Minute Silence in one’s home or on one’s doorstep. If you do come you must wear a mask and may only attend with members of your own household and will be asked to maintain a two metres distance from everybody else
