_Harvest Festival Sunday 15th September_ St Georges Church will be celebrating Harvest this Coming *Sunday 15th* *September*. There will be coffee and croissants served from *9.30am* ,and our service will start at 10am. David Walston is coming along to give us an overview of how harvest has gone in this region for our farmers. There will be something for all ages to enjoy. So please come along. Hi everyone, *_Daffodil bulb planting_* You may have noticed that the display of daffodils on the shop and church triangles was poor this year. We are working to improve this: We have just sprayed the grass on these triangles to kill it off (the current grade of grass was too coarse) We will replant the triangles with a classic more vigorous variety (exact variety is to be finalised but is likely to be King Alfred or Dutch Master) We will then companion plant the triangle with wild flower seed to help the bee popu ...Continue Reading

A defibrillator has been installed in a locked cabinet outside Thriplow Village Hall. It is registered with the Ambulance Service. The security number for the cabinet will be given to anyone calling 999. A defibrillator is very straightforward to use and this one includes an in-built video instruction on what to do if somebody has collapsed. Nevertheless, the more people in the village familiar with how to use it the better. We will hold a brief introduction on how to use a defibrillator and administer CPR. The Society's next item on the programme is a visit on *_Saturday_* September 21st to the village of Much Hadham to see their forge, and have a village and museum tour. This will be followed by tea. *Sunday Volunteers* *As you know our village shop is manned by wonderful volunteers on Sunday mornings. Some of these volunteers have been doing this for many years and have decided that it is now time to hand over to others. We will be looking for new volunteers to start in January 2020. All volunteers are given a thorough training session.* *The shop is open from 8:30 am to noon each Sunday morning.
