October 30th 2020

*Shop Newsletter 201030* Hi everyone Just a quick note on what’s happening at the shop: [*]During lockdown, we think lots of people were happy with the shop and the volunteers for providing home delivery of orders.  We are grateful to our staff and the volunteers (Thriplow always has volunteers) for their extra work during this time.  We proved you don’t have to be Ocado to deliver groceries!  We stand ready to repeat the task if a lockdown of any severity locally requires self-isolation again this wint ...Continue Reading

Village Message from Cambridge County Council

September 18th 2020

Dear All I hope you are well and enjoying the last day of summer! I wanted to pass on this message from Cambridge County Council regarding testing for COVID-19: The National Testing Programme is experiencing exceptionally high demand. Booking slots for Coronavirus tests are made available the evening before for morning appointments, and on the ...Continue Reading

Village Message from Daffodil Weekend Committee

September 17th 2020

Hi everyone, *CANCELLED - Daffodil Weekend 2021* Daffodil Weekend Committee recently held an Extraordinary General Meeting, involving representatives from most of the major groups and societies within our community. Due to the on-going Covid-19 situation it was reluctantly agreed that it will not be possible to safely hold the 2021 Daffodil Weekend, whilst still meeting our primary goal of raising funds for charity. Obviously, this is a huge disappointment to all of us. Our first duty is to keep our visitors and volunt ...Continue Reading

Village Message from Fowlmere and Thriplow Gardening Club

September 15th 2020

*Cancellation of 2020 meetings* * * With regret the Club has taken the decision to cancel our remaining meetings for 2020 - October, November and December.  Although village halls may be opening up for small meetings your Committee felt that it would be unwise and maybe unsafe to ask you to gather.  Also, both village halls could only safely accommodate under 30 people so it would be very difficult and disappointing to turn members away due to the limit on numbers However, the good news is that nearly ...Continue Reading

Hello, it is that time of year again!  The annual subsriptions for membership of our Village Shop Association are due. Never more has the shop been such a valuable resource as it has been this year.  Please help us to keep this up by donating £10 (per member of household if you can) to our subscriptions.  This collection makes all the difference to whether we make a profit (which we put back into the business) or not in the year. The easiest way to pay is to take it out of your prepay account if yo ...Continue Reading
