Village Message, Barbara Pointon MBE

June 22nd 2020

To all those who knew Barbara and have been asking after her recently the sad news is that she died peacefully at her care home yesterday morning (21st). She had lived in Thriplow since 1967. She was a parish councillor for over 40 years and was a member of the village hall committee for longer than I can remember. She also was a leading light in TADS – performing, directing and organising the choreography. She served for some time as a Thriplow school governor and on the Daffodil weekend committee. She was also very i ...Continue Reading

Dear Village, You will have heard from the media that from 1st June, children in some year groups will be returning to school. One of the measures we have put in place is that the children will be arriving in school at staggered timings from 8.40-9.30am. They will be leaving at staggered timings from 3pm-3.50pm (Mon-Thurs) and 12pm-12.30pm on Fridays. There will be a private family funeral in Foxton on Monday 11th May, but beforehand the hearse will travel through Thriplow from Duxford at around 1.30pm. Those of you who remember Chris might like to pay their respects from the roadside as he passes by.  ...Continue Reading
