Urgent! Lawn alert – Chafer grubs! We are aware that we are not alone in the village in suffering an infestation of Chafer grubs in our garden lawn. These grubs feed exclusively on grass roots thus destroying the lawn! The problem needs to be treated village-wide as these grubs are spread very easily to neighbouring gardens. A resident in Hartford (Huntingdon) has reported a suspicious call. A company rang stating they are carrying out a survey on behalf of the Council. They knew the person's name, address and phone number and wanted to arrange a home visit. The resident did not agree to anything and instead rang Cambridgeshire County Council Customer Contact Centre to check if it was genuine. Friends of St Mary's, Fowlmere are holding their annual Family BBQ at Newlands, London Road, Fowlmere on 28th June from 4pm - 8pm.
