Thank you to all who came along and supported the Film Night screening of X + Y at Thriplow School on Thursday 19th November. It was great to have such a good crowd and enjoy a bit of a social before sitting down to the movie. The great news is as well as having a fun night out the evening raised £350 which will be split between Thriplow Primary School and St George's Church to help fund ongoing projects and events. In the last two weeks at least two people in the village have purchased items from a man who was cold calling. The items concerned are expensive Swiss made sets of cutlery, kitchen pans and chef’s knife sets. The seller said he was Swiss (or in the second case Dutch) was young, well dressed and drove an expensive foreign registered car. In both cases he said that he had been making genuine sales in the area and had some excess stock which he wanted to sell off so he could then return home to the continent. Daffodil Planting: Update on autumn 2015 plan The initial phase of this project is focused on creating mass displays at the gateways and on the iconic triangles only. The iconic triangles have now been cleared and replaced with new high quality topsoil. These have also had a preliminary seeding with grass. The bulb planting on these triangles and in the village gateways will now start in earnest. Thriplow Film Nights are making a long awaited return on Thursday 19th November with as ever a glamorous selection of drinks from the renowned cocktail bar that brought you Purple Pimms and Ginger Fizz followed by an epic film.
