Dear friends in Thriplow, As some of you may know, in September I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with a group of my fellow students at the University of York (where I am currently studying biochemistry). We are raising money for the charity Hope for Children who support the Amani Children’s Home in Moshi, which for over 10 years has been dedicated to the protection of Tanzania’s most vulnerable population: street children. Good Afternoon everyone. It gives us great pleasure to let you know that from Good Friday, the Green Man will be open again, running under our new tenants Ben Maude and Alex Rushmer, assisted by the new manager Sam and our lovely Diane. Apologies for this rather impersonal email. After so many years of boys' walking weekends, a small group of Thriplow mums, namely, Julie Bloom, Sarah Elgar, Caroline Harris, Katie Hilton, Lisa Maltpress and Ruth O’Sullivan, have decided to increase the challenge somewhat and walk the 3 Peaks Yorkshire Challenge, Pen-y-ghent (691m), Whernside (728m) & Ingleborough(723m), in under 12 hours. Hi folks We are very busy preparing for Daffodil Weekend so just a few items of news from the shop: 1. Come early on Saturday and Sunday! 2. Our shiny new floor 3. The lucky 150 Club Winners 4. Village Photo from Jubilee Weekend 5. Wine Club 6. Shop Finances 1. Daffodil Weekend will be extremely busy for the shop on both days from about 11am onwards until about 4pm. Please can you come for your papers and groceries before 11am to avoid having to queue behind our visitors. We will of course , keep any newspapers t ...Continue Reading
